Falmouth, Massachusetts Wedding
What do you do when COVID throws your wedding plans a curveball? You figure out how to make the show go on! That is exactly what Gretchen & Shane managed to do with the help of more than a handful of hard working vendors. They were one of the few weddings I photographed during 2020, and I couldn't have been happier to be there!
The day started off at the Palmer House Inn, a Victorian Bed & Breakfast in Falmouth, where Shane was getting ready. After snapping a few shots of Shane and his family, I continued on Gretchen's childhood home in East Falmouth. Her family seemed to own the whole street, so they setup 2 beautiful tents provided by Anchor Tent & Table on adjacent properties. After capturing some great moments of Gretchen getting ready, we headed to the St. Thomas Chapel, right on the water in Falmouth, Massachusetts. It's an adorable little chapel that gets flooded by light at all times of day, perfect for intimate ceremonies.
Following the ceremony we took off for a quick shoot at a private spot nearby before heading back to the tents for the remainder of the night.
We snuck away at sunset for a shoot overlooking the bay across the street. As you can see in the photos, it was absolutely breathtaking! Each shot was better than the last. It's not often that I get a sunset shoot on the water, so I wanted to make sure we took full advantage of it.
The catering, handled by Clambakes, Etc., kept the guest well fed with a steady flow of delicious food like oysters, shrimp and steak seared to perfection. The party continued late into the night with Krissy of KDF Beats leading the way! A delightful late night treat of mini personal pizzas was provided by Pizza Barbone. It was such a privilege to be there to capture Gretchen & Shane's wedding in the time of COVID. It was clear that after the lockdown everyone was ready to party!
